Sitting on the edge of the cliff after finishing a hard climbing route, I am enjoying the view of Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin. That is where I am now, Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA. I am currently an Education masters student at Up with People’s partner university, Carroll University.
I have taken on some leadership roles on campus and organized several campus events since I got here. I am still actively involved with volunteering organizations (Habitat, Circle K). While doing that, I realized the influences Up with People had on me. Instead of planning, I push idea through into action. This was especially useful in organizing activities, trips for student body. I am also a lot more flexible and when facing a problem, I am more solution focus and realistic looking at options instead of saying "It can not be done." Also, sometimes all we need to do is ask and many things could be resolved.
Most importantly, I appreciate my life way more than before because I have done so much, see much more than people my age. Unbelievable experience and memories. Sometimes it is really all about perspective and how we look at our life. Up with People certainly has taught me that.
